Uptown Season Announcement Party!

Last night was our big 2010-2011 Season Announcement Party at the Uptown for our Season Subscribers to Renew their tickets!

We had delicious catering from Main Street Bakery of Grapevine - the Beef Wellington was TO DIE FOR...except that I didn't die because I was too busy eating.

Then we had this fun video by Jon Todd Collins - our fab video guy! Also, I will post the video shortly as soon as I unlock it from his site...

Then we had a special performance by the Texas Gypsies - think Swing and Country mixed together.

To top off the night...we had a huge cake from The Occasional Slice complete with sparklers!

BUT...even with all of the fabulous stuff we had going on...our tablescapes were tablelicious!  We did a table for each show...some were more elaborate than others...but they were very GRAND in Grand Prairie style.

Here are a few of my favorites.

Girls with Guitars

Runt of the Litter

Mother Load

Trout Fishing in America

Improvised Shakespeare

Big Beats over the Summer...

You get the idea...we had a blast decorating and celebrating the upcoming Season!

Wardrobe Wednesday - My Trip to the Big Apple! - UPDATE!

After posting my wardrobe Wednesday, I was on people.com and found this
SIMILAR OUTFIT! With a few adjustments, I will be rocking these Biel threads.

On Friday I will be traveling to New York City to visit my friend Gretchen and spend some time with a really fun group of girls including my friend Jenn.  We will be celebrating or perhaps ignoring the Mother's Day crowds and celebrating our own bond of friendship and all of the ties that bind us together regardless of the miles.  We always have a blast in New York as there are a ton of things to do.  We pretty much have a little schedule that we kind of fall into and it could not be more relaxing and rejuventaing.  A little partying, a little hanging out, but always on the run....on the go...and on foot.

Here is my Saturday wardrobe....a la Gap...circa 1995, but also currently in their stores. Also, I will add a scarf and pretend to alude the paparazzi...doesn't every walking around New York pretend to be fabulous!

Classic Gap Jacket
$29.50

Knit Polo Shirt with a classic white tank underneath
24.50

 Old Navy Ultra Flare Khakis
$17.50

Then some cute comforatble shoes, and I am off to big city to explore, play, and laugh with the Girls!
I will post pictures of my trip on Monday!

Have a great Weekend!

What would you do with $50?

Sometimes, we just need a little perspective.  Children usually offer the best perspective.

Enjoy!

Tonight - Simply Sinatra at the Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie...

The last few weeks have been busy, busy, busy.  We had two shows that we have been pushing pretty hard back to back.  It is well worth it my friends because we love to introduce this level of performance to the people of Grand Prairie and surrounding areas.  Tonight we have Steve Lippia's Simply Sinatra.  It should be ear candy and wonderful...although the production people have been a bit of a handful, it should turn out pretty nice.  I was commissioned as part of my job to create a blue Martini in honor of ol blue eyes...and after some hard work tasting some different concoctions...I have laid down this recipe.

Enjoy!

Mrs. Justice
The Ol' Blue Eyes Martini
  • 2 oz Blue Ice American Vodka
  • 3/4 oz sweet and sour mix
  • 1/2 blue curacao
  • 1/2 oz pineapple juice
ice, shake, stir, pour, and enjoy.

Landon Pigg Show

After weeks and almost a month of agonizing over this show - it was finally here!  When I say agonize, I mean that we were worried and we were planning and a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this...on a bunch of levels.  First, ticket sales.  They did decent to well.  Second, special menus.  They went pretty well with a coffee shop theme and cute marketing sign including Mochatini's.  Third, the artist.  He delivered.  Although, I am not going to lie...his key boardist, Peter, was a little more out going...and that's all I will say about that!

Here is a photo...

Landon - rocking out.

Michael

Because this isn't my story to tell, and the only way I can think of to honor Michael today on the anniversary of his death is by honoring Jenn's request that he never be forgotten...In her words from the project she put together this summer...

About Michael's Name Project

It is my desire that Michael’s name always be remembered. That he is not forgotten. That his memory will always live on.

Michael’s 10th birthday is coming up on July 1st. Double Digits. He would have been so excited about his day. We had just discussed possible party plans on that Wednesday. Before that terrible Thursday.

With that in mind, I have a big request. I would like to see Michael’s name spelled out in as many ways as possible. I would like to see his name in many settings. From many people. Handwrite his name, spell it out with objects, skywrite it. It doesn’t matter. Just write his name. Be creative. Be big. Be small. Take a picture. And remember him, say his name.
